SPECIALIZED TORCH COLLECTION

In the Spring of 2015 I was tasked with creating a concept for the 2016 Rio Games. Recent to then I had been playing around with some thermochromic pigment which when activated by heat will change from an opaque color to transparent revealing the color beneath it. The idea for the Torch Collection was born from this paint innovation and resulted in a group of products that left a huge impression at the games. Since the paint changed at 72 F when the racers would go into the shady mountains their frames would turn orange (the cool color) and when they made it to the beach where it was hot the frames turned bright yellow (the warm color). It was such an impressive effect race announcers talked about it and competitors mentioned it in their advertising. Needless to say I was super proud of the result.
